Breaking News: National Assembly passes 8.91 trillion Naira 2019 budget

The Senate has passed the 2019 budget.
After four months of careful consideration, the Nigerian Senate passed the 2019 budget on Tuesday, April 30.

The decision of the Senate was sequel to the presentation of the bill by the Senate Committee on Appropriation.

Announcing this at the plenary, chairman of the Committee, Danjuma Goje, announced an increase in the budget to 8.91 trillion.

The increase, according to former gombe state governor and current senator, Danjuma Goje, was due to accommodate provisions for the N10 billion for the Northeast Development Commission as well as compensation for victims of Zamfara killings and banditry.

While commending his fellow senators on the job weldone on the budget, Senate President Bukola Saraki urged the Executive to speedily implement the budget.
